India was close second, but its overlapping layers of loyalty and religious conflict had made control in the region all but impossible. Japan, however, had everything she needed. A strict system of control and organization, yet broken just enough for anger, fear, and jealousy. So while War subjugated the step, Death shredded through the weak and infirm, and Famine grew her deserts, Makima had worked her way into Japan's complex strings of feuds and nobility.

It wasn’t often Liadrin had the opportunity to ride out her heat in peace. If memory serves, her last one was nearly two decades ago. A much needed escape from the priory of Belore, two weeks on the coast near Windrunner spire. It was one of the few times since her childhood she could remember allowing herself to truly relax. To soak in the light of the sun and revel in the ocean winds. It hadn’t taken much to find herself a heat partner, Cassalia had been her name, an Alpha jewel crafter who’d brought Liadrin pleasures she’d never even known existed.
This one was not so different, an invitation to escape from the grueling monotony of Silvermoon given and accepted, the warmth of an unfamiliar sun and the wind’s of an ocean unknown to her. And of course, an alpha to take her. -

She'd caught her. After so many years, she'd finally caught her. Caitlyn would have been ecstatic, should have been really, but she couldn't help the sinking feeling in her gut.
Just on the other side of the glass, Luxanna Crownguard sat in the interrogation room, hands cuffed with magic dampeners. She was powerless, truly. Yet even now, powerless as she was, Caitlyn couldn't help but hold a twinge of fear. Lux had been powerless in Demacia, nearly encased in Petricite, but that hadn't been enough. Jinx had swooped in of course, somehow, someway. She'd dashed in like a knight in shining armor, saved Lux's life, and gotten away scot-free. That was the romantic version Zaunites told anyway. They conveniently forgot the part where Jinx happened to set half of Demacia on fire in the process.
Caitlyn wasn't sure she wanted to see if Piltover could withstand the same treatment.
But she had a job to do and she certainly wasn't going to do it from behind the glass.Series
