This is a Slave Luffy Au (contains potential spoilers up to the Egg-Head Arc)
Three years after Sabo's boat sank beneath flames and wave Luffy was captured and sold as a slave. After two years he;s managed to escape and thanks to a partically whiskered furry friend, ends up on the Moby Dick while those who care about him are searching the vast oceans to in hopes of returning him home.
Or... Stefan finds recently escaped Luffy and goes "mine" and brings him home... isn't normally the kid bringing the puppy home and begging dad to keep it?

Summary
Luffy already had one problem, being that he had no idea what he was, or why he needed to eat human flesh to survive. Keeping it a secret from the rest of his crew while traveling was hard, but he managed well enough with the support of his first mate. He didn't expect being DIFFERENT meant he was on the hit list for the World Government. And add to that, Luffy's devil fruit being sentient and ALSO on the hit list of the World Government, he seemed to be shackled to a fate long ago set in stone for him. That didn't mean he'd let it overrule his quest to become the Pirate King, regardless of all the many complications being a ghoul and a god brought along with it.

Later that night, when Luffy is in bed scrolling mindlessly on his phone as sleep eludes him, he stumbles upon an ad. Initially he just scrolls past it, not really thinking much of it, but something makes him go back to it.

Portgas D Ace is so done.
He's had to watch his family die again and again to save him, and each time, he's failed to protect them.
Until he's left alone standing in a field of bloody corpses, and when he finally passes the cycle repeats.
And every time he awakens, he's on Whitebeard's ship again right after he gets kidnapped by the Whitebeard Pirates.
Rinse, repeat. And they all die again.
