Summary
James Tiberius Kirk, son of George and Winona Kirk, step-son of Admiral Christopher Pike. That's how he's introduced. All Jim really wanted to do was be himself, run off and see the stars, live his life the way he wanted to. Instead he was stuck exchanging pleasantries with dignitaries, getting snubbed by haughty Vulcans, and drowning in Academy exam work, which sort of ... sucks.

“Ah hey now… Aren’t you always asking me to tell you more stories?” Vash defends himself, and Wolfwood chokes on smoke during his inhale. Rude bastard, using his tactics against him. He doesn’t ask because he wants to be entertained damnit. Time to fluster him back then, Wolfwood concludes. He reaches behind himself and manages to shut the door, and the entire room goes silent as the sound from the downstairs casino gets muffled.
“Other stories, Vash,” Wolfwood kicks his boot again, and Vash nudges back with a playful smile, head still tilted. He looks innocent, cheeks flushed... he smiles sweetly when he understands the kick is an inquiry for a different tale.
“Like what?” Vash can indulge. Wolfwood is one of the few he bothers telling his past experiences to anyway. What could Wolfwood ask that he wouldn’t feel comfortable telling him at this point?
“How was your first time?”

Summary
Months after their mission has ended, Kirk asks Spock, who has been living on New Vulcan, to come to Riverside to assist in repairing the old farmhouse. Spock, who has acknowledged he is deeply in love with Kirk, to himself anyway, agrees, even though he knows little about repairing Terran houses. He hopes to confess his regard.
This is my contribution to the T'hy'la Bang challenge for 2017. I was inspired for the title by the song, Who Am I to Say by Hope.

Although Jim and Spock have developed a deep friendship over the first three years of their mission, neither of them is satisfied, each longing for a more intimate connection. As far as Jim knows, Spock and Uhura are still happily together, and there's no chance for him to be with Spock. But in reality, Spock and Uhura ended their relationship years ago, and ever since, Spock has been desperately trying to make Jim see that he's in love with him.
After the loss of the Enterprise and the events on Altamid and Yorktown, Jim is struggling with major mental illness and Spock has finally given up any hope of his captain returning his affections. Can they correct their misunderstanding before it's too late?
