Summary
" Blitzø turns the deadbolt on the seedy motel room door, then pushes a chair beneath the handle just to be safe. There's a peephole that he tapes over in case Goetia have weird bird vision that would let them look through from the other side. When that's done, Blitzø still isn't certain nobody can get in so he resigns himself to keeping watch all night.
He turns back to check on Stolas. It's only been four days since they left the palace together. Magically, apparently, Stolas is certain that he's eggnant but he looks the same to Blitzø. They booked this crappy room with some of the cash that Stolas brought, but they'll need to pawn his expensive shit to get more. "
Or:
After Blitzø and Stolas run away together, they must make a new life for themselves and the egg. Along the way, maybe they can do some healing too.

Summary
" “She wants a bike, Blitzø!” Stolas says in a sharp whisper. “She wants to ride around and do wheelies and maybe even take up a paper route.”
“And? It doesn't matter, she's not even one yet.”
Blitzø tries to remember if there's any dumbass Goetic convention around kids only travelling via limo or portal. He gets the worry about wheelies - there's no way he's letting Octavia get within six inches of a scraped knee - but what's so wrong about it otherwise? And if their daughter can start an honest living this early, she'll already have outstripped her dads before reaching the starting line of life. That's fucking impressive.
Stolas takes a difficult breath in. “We can't get her a bike. We can't - I can't even take her outside. The first thing she's ever wanted for, and I must say no?” "
Or:
With Octavia growing older, Blitzø and Stolas struggle to support her. Stolas cannot bear to be left alone and Blitzø cannot handle upsetting him; as Octavia's first birthday approaches, things only become more difficult.

Summary
“Hellborns are organic. We are meant to die. It's natural. Beautiful, even. Everything breaks down, rises back up, and breaks down again. Every living thing grows out of every dying thing. We leave more life behind us to take our place." Stolas’ voice was soft, an attempt to soothe, to offer some comfort in the face of the inevitable.
But Blitzø remained unimpressed, his expression unchanging. "There’s not really a ‘we’ in this, is there?"
Stolas tilted his head, confusion furrowing his brow. "Hm?"
"You aren’t meant to die. I am, but you’re not.” Blitzø muttered, reminding Stolas of their fate. “So what happens when I’m not around anymore? When I kick the bucket and you’re left here, still doing your thing and going about your immortal life?"

Summary
“This is absurd. Surely there’s someone more qualified to tutor this imp,” Stolas continued.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” Blitzø said in a mocking falsetto, “is my little imp ass too uncultured for your royal tutoring standards?”
“I just meant I’m not trained for remedial cases.”
Blitzø slammed his hand on the desk. “Say that again, you fucking pencil neck–”
“Enough.” Principal Morningstar stood up. “I don’t care if you two can’t stand each other. Blitzø needs help. Stolas, your father agreed to this arrangement. Consider it extra credit. And Blitzø, if you walk out of here without agreeing, you’re off the team.”
Stolas shot Blitzø a disdainful glance, his arms crossed tightly. Blitzø, meanwhile, looked like he was trying to melt a hole through the floor with his glare.
“Fine,” they said in unison, then promptly scowled at each other.
