Summary
Ianto and Jack get trapped in the past with the crew of the Revenge while Izzy gets stuck in the future with Team Torchwood.
Gwen, Tosh, and Owen have to figure out how they are going to get everyone back where they belong, but Izzy becomes a bit of a distraction.
Meanwhile in the past Ianto and Jack get caught up in the middle of an overcomplicated revenge plot on Stede Bonnet. Jack and Ianto have to team up with Blackbeard, the Gentleman Pirate, and their crazy pirate hoard in order to stop it.
This is definitely not the pirate fantasy that Jack and Ianto had hoped for.

Alternate Ending to Season One
Stede wasn’t the best with directions… Maybe he got lost on his way to the dock? Maybe Stede had more things to bring with him than Ed had originally thought and was weighed down, walking slower. Maybe he was waylaid by his habit to take in the “insane foliage” everywhere they went? Maybe Stede was still asleep? He did sleep quite heavily, only cannon fire it seemed would wake the man.
Maybe Stede hadn’t shown up on purpose…?
Even though the Gentleman Pirate had awoken the long forgotten soft side of him - with kind words and lingering glances and soft touches and a softer kiss - he was still a man of action.
And act he fucking would.

Summary
Considering all the ways Ed could've died, this one isn't half bad. Failing in the attempt to save Stede's life sure beats the mutiny he'd been positive would take him out, and at least now he knows that Stede, too, died trying to get back to him. When it turns out Ed and Stede are both a bit less dead than Ed had planned on, though, it means they have to, like, talk about it. Fuck.
A canon-divergent season 2 where news of Stede's "death" pushes Ed to turn to his suicide-by-mutiny idea just a bit earlier, just in time for him to run into the Red Flag as he heads into a different storm, and that changes everything.

“I was going to make tomato toasts,” he says, hearing the whine in his voice over the driving rain. “The loaves you baked yesterday would be perfect.”
Ed laughs and Stede turns, about to get snappy about Ed laughing at his distress, but... oh.
Ed is stretched out on their bed, nothing but his robe on, barely draped around him. It’s the blush-pink one, a warm, sweet color that makes Stede think of spun sugar and dripping fruit juice, and Ed’s hair is an unruly mess around his head, and his legs are long and muscular and hairy and perfect, and he’s on his side, cheek on his fist, one leg bent up. He looks decadent, indulgent, like a dessert, and Stede, suddenly, is much less concerned with the change in plans.
Inspired by Kuuttamo's incredible comic! Credit for a chunk of the dialogue goes to them and also for the way this posessed my brain.
