Summary
In her childhood, Robin heard many stories of a fairytale land where animals and humans lived in harmony. Similar to her own experience later, the land was destroyed because of the forbidden power of a Poneglyph. A Poneglyph that was lost to the sea as the fairyland's royal princess sacrificed herself to make sure it never fell into their destroyers' hands.
Years later, she hears the long-lost language of the fairytale land again and a puzzle clicks together in an impossible way.

Summary
The Going Merry is unlike anywhere Sanji’s ever been, and the Straw Hats are unlike any people Sanji has ever known. For the first time in a long time, Sanji’s scared, only this time, he doesn’t quite understand what he’s scared of.
Sanji has another cigarette to get rid of the hollow pit in his stomach and very studiously does not watch Zoro and Luffy sleep. He does not ache, does not yearn. He stamps out his third cigarette and returns to the galley.

Summary
For a while, this is as close as they get to any sort of argument: Zoro growling at him like a rabid dog, deadlocked into a staring contest that Mihawk, for the first time, might actually lose.
Perona finally breaks the silence. "Urgh! I've had it with you--emotionally constipated sword freaks!" she fumes with a petulant stomp of her cherry boots. "Fine! If you two won’t talk about it, then I’ll do it for you!" She extends her hands. "Negative Hollow!"
Twin translucent specters erupt from her palms. Mihawk effortlessly swats away the pest -- but Zoro, only halfway to his mastery of haki and ambushed from his freshly-carved blind spot, is not quite so fortunate.
Zoro crumples to his hands and knees. “I don't deserve to have you as my father.”
Perona gasps. Zoro petrifies, and Mihawk thinks, distantly, that this is what it would feel like to take a sword to the chest.
“As your what?”

All of these thoughts fly out of Sanji’s head when Zoro opens his mouth and asks, “Who are the Vinsmokes?”
Glass shatters at his feet. The room goes deathly silent.
Sanji hardly notices, rooted in place with frozen shock and trying to process the question in a way that makes sense. His disbelieving gaze is riveted on Zoro’s face, and Zoro stares back steadily, revealing nothing. “Where,” Sanji says, slowly, quietly, his voice cutting through the stillness like a blade, “did you hear that name?”
Zou isn't the first time the Strawhats hear of the Vinsmokes. Because apparently Sanji can't keep his mouth shut when he's drugged, sick, and delirious with fever.
Or: Sanji has a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. But it's okay, because his family is always there for him.

To her credit, she doesn't immediately respond with some inanity about it being a happy occasion. It's never been particularly happy for Sanji. Not before he met Zeff and the two of them sort of inadvertently adopted each other, and not after, when it was nothing but a reminder of a painful past he'd rather have forgotten.
“Birthdays can be difficult,” she says, instead.

Zoro can’t believe he's here, getting wasted with the greatest swordsman the world has ever known. So far.
They're several bottles in, and Zoro has taken up residence on the barstool next to him, matching him glass for glass, feeling the watery frills of that red shirt brush against his bare forearm every time he moves. The room has started gently spinning, the booze is strong, but the other man is watching him with something like grudging respect every time he finishes another glass of the stuff, so it's worth it.
This is great. He's going to get such a good grade in Dracule Mihawk.
So why can't he stop thinking about the damn cook?
Our intrepid crew finally reach Loguetown, where adventure - and danger - awaits them.
A fic in which Zoro is moping, Sanji is trying not to fall so hard he hurts himself, and Dracule Mihawk is the world's least willing relationship counsellor.
