Peter had come to term with a few things.
The first was that his mere presence was a curse to those around him. It was a sheer miracle that Morgan was still as vivacious as ever, even with him lurking like a squatter forced out of the rain.
The second was that his guardians never had chosen him—he was a burden after the last parent passed, and continued to be burden now.
The third was that he never would fit into Tony’s family. No matter just how much he wanted to.

Summary
Peter, now forgotten by the world, prepares to die. That is, until Iron Man shows up looking for Spider-Man.
OR
“It’s not even Bucky's fault, really, that your parents are dead. He doesn't even remember doing it."
A voice, in the back of his mind, whispers. "It's not Strange's fault that you're alone now."
Peter continued, voice rising. "But you’re angry, at yourself, right? For letting it all happen. And now they’re gone, and you’ll never see them again, and what are you supposed to do, kill yourself over it?"
What are you supposed to do, when you look at your mentor and they see you as a stranger? What do you do, when all you are to your mentor is a a jumper to save before continuing on to the people he cares about?
"I lived with it." Mister Stark's reply was gentle, infuriatingly so, and it angered Peter. The older man would never understand, would never stop being better than Peter could ever be. He just... lived with it.
Peter couldn't live with it.

Being forgotten is so frighteningly lonely that it makes him spiral sometimes. How can he explain that he feels like he’s in a dark tunnel and he can’t even tell which way he came in from or where the exit is.
That he longs for the feeling you can only get when someone knows you. When someone cares for you.
And on days like this, he wants to quit. On days like this, he wishes he hadn’t even made it out of the crumbling apartment and May’s arms.
OR- Post NWH but Tony Stark is alive, and he’s wondering where the photo in his kitchen came from. Naturally, against all advice, he must track down this boy.

The sky is falling.
Chunks of debris and detritus rain, catching alight on spliced shadows as the sky heralds a different set of stars. Unknown spaceships roar and settle in scraping patterns along the skyline, planets gyrating and nebulae coughing cloudy coagulation upon where earth’s blue atmosphere would be. It’s breathtaking, the sheer scope of dusty colors that sweep fingerprints across the dainty lilt of light illuminating the foreign sky. Gaseous orbs cleave color in the horizon, rings swinging around them.
The sky is falling, and it may or may not be your fault.

You, a suicidal teenager, get tangled up with the Avengers after unintentionally gaining powers during an alien attack and accidentally causing a rift in space and time. Now with powers that define you as a cosmic horror, you attempt to subtly get killed while caught up in the Avengers’ affairs.
