By finally reaching the grown-up age, Greg Heffley thought he could just slack off and live the way he wants, waiting for opportunities to fall from the sky and just keep lazing around.
Little did he know that the weight of it all would expeditiously arrive and crash his plans down when it came to his acknowledgment that advantages actually do not come from nowhere. And to make a start in his legacy, he had to get some adult responsibilities, which includes: getting into a college, which also meant? having to make an income.
And not like things could also get more annoying; the only available establishment he could apply a job to... was as a barista at a "boring" coffee shop.
Except that… unlike his current vision of it, he might actually end up encountering some unexpected surprises there, as he ends up meeting with some old colleagues from school years.
And maybe a possibility, but just a possibility, that this job wasn't actually that bad of an idea after all.

It was a cold night.
Tsukasa hates the cold. He hates the rain. He hates empty houses. He hates the sound of silence. He hates the cold.
It was always far too cold when he was alone.
But now, as he stood at a time nearing the middle of the night. Hands resting now numbly on a freezing metal bar as wind violently whipped his hair every which way; the sound of water beneath the bridge he stood upon rushing loudly in his ears, he decided it was different.
Alternatively: Tsukasa is so, so tired, and decides one night that death will be his only solace from the thoughts which plague him. Can the virtual singers and his troupmates show him just how wrong he is about everything before it's too late?

Somewhere, out there, right there, right here, Avery cries. Derek knows he's mourning. The hope, the hopelessness, the love, the betrayal, the grief, he willingly feels it all. He looks through the house. Avery's mother is watching the ball drop, His sister and brother bicker over alcohol. Fireworks thunder outside. Derek revels in the celebrations. He won't get another. Avery's sobs are drowned out by the noise below. He extends his oblivion-touched hands, but cannot reach him.
