“Kacchan, what does it mean to be a hero?”
Bright green eyes stared into rusty red ones. They were both too young to really know what it meant, too enamored with the bright sparkling lights that dazzled them from the tv screens when a villain fight would show on air. They’d been lulled into the same false sense of security as the rest of their generation by decades of heroes smiling at cameras while they shook off their pain.
“It means you always win, no matter what.” Kacchan says with a smile. “That’s why I’m gonna be the number one hero! I always win. No matter what!”
If only he hadn’t when it counted…----------------------------------------
Basically a character study on Bakugou if Midoriya had taken his suggestion in middle school (but with a surprise twist at the end).

John and Mary Grayson die; Dick becomes Robin. This is everything that happens in between, a/k/a, how Gotham City ripped one family and identity from Dick and gave him another.
An origin story in the Rebirth spirit, weaving together threads from Tec #40, Dark Victory, Robin: Year One, New 52, and more.
Dick just wanted to go back to the circus, to go back to his normal life, waving to crowds and flying through the air. But instead he was in a giant cave under a giant mansion in (outside of?) Gotham, swiftly becoming part of a billionaire's cobbled-together family and trying to solve a murder. And the worst part? He sort of liked it.
