Summary
Once upon a time, in a land far away, there stood a shining castle ruled by a king of great power and greater pride. He was admired by all and had everything his heart desired.
Then, one winter’s night, a cold wind rushed into the castle, bringing with it a wild, rebellious magic. No one knows what passed between the king and that magic but, by dawn, the castle was changed forever.
A terrible curse was cast upon the castle's walls and all who dwelled within. A horrifying Beast with a cruel and selfish heart sat upon the throne.
Disgusted by his grotesque reflection, the Beast concealed himself, never to be seen again by the outside world. The once-radiant castle fell into disrepair.
The magic had but one rule: if the castle’s master could love another and earn that love in return before the end of the seventh year, the spell would be broken. If not, the curse would take full hold, and all would remain as they were forevermore.
As the years passed, the king despaired and lost all hope.
For who could ever learn to love a Beast?

Angel lifted his head, freezing on spotting Charlie’s rectangle. “Holy shit! Is that a fuckin’ cellphone?!”
Charlie gave a nervous laugh. “Yeah. You don’t have a charger do you?”
He pointed at Alastor, eyes narrowing. “How come the new girl gets t’keep her phone? Ya said that shit don't exist around here!”
“It doesn’t,” Alastor said, flabbergasted.
Charlie’s gaze darted between them. “…this isn’t a cult or something, is it…? I’m just so busy between work and school, I don’t have time to join a cult right now.”
Angel’s shoulders sagged. “Nobody told ya…?”
“Told me what?”
“That you’re dead.”
She didn’t laugh this time. “What?”
“Everybody here’s dead.“

A living girl walks into a coffee shop for the dead... Unfortunately for Alastor, the head of a village of ghosts, Charlie’s arrival isn’t the setup for a joke. Though she vows to lay the wayward souls to rest, he's sure she'll be a blip in his century of life after death. Summary
Most interactions in Hell were born out of one of two necessities; protection or survival. Even in matters of lust, the same two driving forces were at the forefront.
Lucifer knew this better than anyone. He’d witnessed Hell's rise up from nothing but barren landscape filled with volcanic rock and ashes to the mangled, polluted hellscape it was these days.
He was reasonably content in his belief that Alastor saw him as more than a means to be protected by, or a method of survival against enemies. He’d not once asked Lucifer to fight a battle for him—hell, there wasn’t even so much as a deal locking them together.Series

Lucifer, a divorcee trail guide from a big occult practicing family is hired by a group of self proclaimed monster and myth hunters calling themselves "The Vs" to lead them through the Erie Mist Mountain Pass pass. He almost refuses, knowing it was the season for the worst of eldritch of things to come out but by golly the paycheck that overgrown power puff girl pulled out! Even if Vox's fantasies about being fucked by a monster are creepy - it was enough to feel like he could try. Charlie's birthday was coming up after all!
Just stay calm, camp early, set up wards... yeah?
Well, unfortunately or... one might say very fortunately, for him, there was a special kind of being hiding in the trees this time.

“I like being useful.”
“Yes, well, that’s your angelic nature shining through.” Alastor must see the gaping wound at Lucifer’s core because he knows exactly where to poke. He digs his fingers into it, prodding and careless, and Lucifer isn’t sure whether he hates it or gets off on it. “Made to serve, weren’t you?”
