The vampire spawn is stunned into silence. Looking around, he realizes that he knows this area - it’s where he fell from the nautiloid and somehow landed without breaking every bone in his body. He’s wearing the same clothes, the same shoes, the same cheap dagger in his hand. “This isn’t happening.”
“It is.”
“You’re telling me that I’ve gone back in time nearly half a year?!”
“Yes.”

He didn't fucking know, but he was not about to let a small child and a pack of wild animals insult his otherwise suave and threatening presence.
