Summary
The Kira case was closed, even though not much of anything was solved. There were still a lot of unanswered questions. With the little evidence they did have, they could only conclude that L must’ve been Kira the whole time. And after causing Light Yagami to die from a heart attack, he killed himself.
Soichiro didn’t cope well with the death of his son. And the part he played in it.

Summary
In the online world, Kira is known as a God of death. If he speaks his will, then it will come to be. Many will call it all a set of coincidences or fortunate timing. Teru Mikami, having been saved by this gift, knows it as divine intervention.
At school, he meets his savior in the flesh as a boy named Light Yagami.
Holding prophetic dreams, he claims that in three weeks, the world as they know it shall end, and a new one, where he is its ruler, will be born. However, it's not a goal that can be accomplished alone, and as such, he seeks Mikami out as his disciple.
Or:
Light is delusional, and Mikami, equally so, is more than happy to tag along for the ride.

Summary
Out of each and every soul on Earth, Misa's entire world centers upon one soul, and one soul only. Despite the distance, despite the feigned coldness, she knows her love is shared just as equally as her own, even if he has to hide it from everyone. She repeats such thoughts as a mantra in her mind at any moment of doubt — when he dodges her kisses and turns his gaze away from her eyes to fix upon their pseudo captor.
So could she really be blamed for wishing for his full attention? It's only a harmless good-luck charm, that willow branch. And yet, when one unknowingly plays with fire, casualties aren't far behind.
OR;
Misa, having innocently used a one-wish willow, has an accidental slip-up in wording, wording that is apparently *very* specific. What was originally a wish for Light's everlasting love is mistakenly directed to the worst person she could possibly think of; L Lawliet.
The consequences of that mistake shatters their lives permanently.
