Summary
Toji had been given a reset button. A mulligan. He didn't know why. He didn't know if it was a cruel joke or a clerical error in the afterlife. Maybe he was still in Shibuya, bleeding out, and this was the dying hallucination of a brain starved of oxygen. But the rag was wet in his hand. The floor was hard against his spine. The kid was warm against his leg.
If this was a dream, it was too vivid. If it was a second chance, it was a heavy one.
His gaze returned to the mountain of trash bags. It was a monument to his life: piled up, rotting, ignored, and uselessly stinking up the place. He’d treated his existence like a hand of cards he was waiting to fold.
"Alright," he whispered to the empty, filthy room. "Fine."

Summary
He doesn’t know what to say, so he tugs on Okkotsu’s hand until their arms are flush together, and lays his head on the taller boy’s shoulder. He knows he’s crossing a line. Shame drips into the mix of longing and steadfast grief that’s already swirling in his gut, because the boy he’s soothing right now has a girlfriend, and he’ll never get as close as her. He’ll never get this close again. He can only ever really love the idea of Okkotsu Yuuta, and if it makes him sick and twisted to be satisfied with that, well, Inumaki Toge was raised by serpents, and serpents are the very embodiment of greed.
He’ll take what he can get.

Summary
Yuuta walked into the back part of Toge's house in search of the boy with light golden hair. The sun set slowly behind the small strip of woods, making the sky glow with an array of pinks and oranges. The large garden shone with a multitude of colors as the fruits and vegetables received their nightly dose of water from the automatic sprinkler. Dog laid sprawled out in the remaining sunlight, the cat's purring being heard from where Yuuta stood. The sound of chickens drew his attention and two thoughts entered his mind as Toge walked through the grass, a basket of vegetables on his hip and chickens at his feet.
1. No one had ever looked as beautiful as he did.
2. Yuuta finally knew what he wanted to write about for the first time in months, his brain block completely vanishing.OR: City Poet Yuuta gets introduced to Mute Farmer Toge and the garden isn't the only thing that grows.
