When the first of these strange people fell from the sky and made a dent in the Moby, Marco was very concerned. He figured they were either a threat against Pops or, more likely, dead from impact.
After the nth time a random stowaway appears, this one is a goddamn skeleton, Marco just sighs and points them in the direction of their new second division commander.
Because for some ungodly reason all they seem to care about is Whitebeard's newest son, Ace.
(Ace is very confused and has never met these people in his life.)
Or: The Strawhats will always only bow to one king, and Whitebeard is not that man. Unfortunately for everyone, that man is nowhere to be found.

Summary
The wind picked up. Not gradually, as wind should, but all at once—a gale that hit the Sunny from every direction simultaneously. The ship groaned, tilting dangerously to port. Luffy stood at the bow, his hair whipping in the impossible wind, his eyes bright with something between excitement and determination. "Everyone hold on! We're going through!"
"Through what?!" Usopp demanded. "There's nowhere to go through!"
"Through everything!" Luffy's grin was manic now. "This is just another adventure!"
"Your optimism is going to kill us!" Usopp wailed
But Luffy wasn't listening. He was already moving, his body stretching and warping in ways that only Gear Five allowed. "Everyone! Get behind me!"
"What are you going to do?!" Jinbe demanded.
"Punch it!".
"YOU CAN'T PUNCH LIGHT!" Usopp shrieked.
And Luffy, Luffy wasn't listening—
"—CHAMPION BAZOOKA!"
His fists connected with the beam of light.
And the world exploded

Well. It's been a really nice dream.
It’s strange to think about it, but he had a lot of fun playing with these boys. He truly felt like a child. Perhaps, it's a small gift to replace his forgotten childhood memories.
A dream that feels so real it’s almost convincing. As if he truly spent the day running through the forest, hunting crocodiles for food and splashing through the river with two imaginary boys — friends.
Ace and Luffy, huh.
(or: Sabo wakes up in the past. He still has amnesia.)

Summary
Smoker was a good Marine. He had fought against pirates his whole life, defended civilians, and protected what he believed was Justice.
Then he witnessed the Government permit slavery, something supposedly outlawed, and his world shifted as he realized that the pristine white flag of the Marines hid some ugly blemishes.
He did what his instincts demanded, but he knew the consequences would reach him. So when one day, a Vice Admiral and a new Captain for Loguetown appeared with orders to execute him, he wasn't surprised.
Smoker was resigned to his fate until a kid in a Strawhat casually fell near his cell. The kid was a pirate, and Smoker hated pirates, but-
"Pirates are people who are free! Who explore the world, chase their dreams, and follow their own path! And I'm going to become the Pirate King, the freest person in the sea!"
And Smoker felt his world shift again. If the white flag of the Marines hid blemishes... Maybe there were a few clean spots in the pitch black flag of the Pirates?

Or: Luffy kidnaps Smoker from his own execution and Smoker is forced to join the Strawhats.
...He still isn't sure if it's the best or worst decision of his life.

Summary
If anyone had ever asked Smoker if he'd become a pirate, he would have thrown them out a window.
Or: In the aftermath of Punk Hazard Smoker ends up aboard the Thousand Sunny to spy on the Strawhats. What he finds instead: unexpected family ties, a trial for Luffy's custody, and the slow realization that maybe justice was never what he thought it was. Also, he might be a Strawhat now. "Until the day I defeat him and become the greatest swordsman," Zoro shouts through sobs, "I will definitively not lose again!!!"
Luffy feels the bond strengthening. The bond that was created when Zoro accepted his deal and strengthened when Luffy promised to not get in the way of Zoro's dream. An additional layer forms as Zoro makes a promise back to him, a promise he will have to uphold for Luffy, so Luffy can be pirate king with a crew he can be proud of. Pirate king with the world's greatest swordsman by his side.
A story of Luffy's and Zoro's trust, bonds and promises that are weaved throughout Luffy's adventure from the East Blue to Wano.

Familiar figures lurked in his dreams and stalked his thoughts. Whenever Sabo reached out a hand, laughter erupted in his ears as the figures dashed away. They were always playing a game of tag, and Sabo was always it.
Little did anything to distract Sabo from the greedy emptiness in his heart. He had one steady source of entertainment (and information), the newspaper. It was a moment to look through a window to anywhere in the world. He looked through the window to see two names in particular: Portgas D. Ace and Monkey D. Luffy.

Monkey D. Luffy has never heard of the One Piece, has never set sail to become a pirate. Rather, his entire life has been spent fighting off monsters that regular humans aren't able to perceive.
Because he's not human—or not entirely, if that goat-man is to believed. Apparently, Luffy's a demigod, a powerful individual with one human parent and another godly one.
Luffy's skeptical, being he's 90% sure he doesn't have parents, but he decides to go along with it anyways. After all, his two brothers, Ace and Sabo, are pretty excited by the whole situation.
Plus, Camp Half-Blood happens to have reaaaaaaaaally good strawberries.

Summary
Suguru dies and hopes to finally rest. Yet instead his soul is bonded to a random pink-haired teenage monkey as if a curse. Forced to be around Itadori Yuuji from now on, not able to leave, Suguru has to accept his fate and quickly realizes that the boy is not an average human being at all. So, the man decides to teach him about cursed energy. That's what saves Yuuji from becoming Sukuna's vessel and gives him a place in Jujutsu High as a regular student. Suguru can only laugh at how all the familiar paths are being crossed again, a bit nostalgic about the place and people around, with Gojou Satoru observing Yuuji intently. Maybe the curse wasn't that random at all?
Or: In this fic, Yuuji is bonded to Suguru instead of Sukuna, and it changes everything.

It is familiar, comforting, inviting. It urges him, frantic yet gentle as it pushes him towards the surface.

Bright blue eyes blink at him like a lighthouse in the night, cutting through the darkness and fog, guiding him back home.“How long are you gonna let yourself be used like this, Suguru?”
Those words feel like a punch to the gut. He starts thrashing and struggling against the black quicksand trapping him.
It hurts. It hurts so much. Still he keeps pushing. Because Satoru needs him.Finally, he is free.
He looks up and finds himself face to face with Satoru, who is still kneeling with his hands tied behind his back by the Prison Realm and is looking straight back at him.
All the defiance and aggression from earlier is gone from his eyes, replaced instead by a familiar softness.
