Summary
Clancy’s feet pound into the earth, no longer bothering with silence. An eerie parallel comes to mind as he chases. Had he looked like this, a bleeding, doomed animal?
Disgust burns in his fingers. Had he truly been this pathetic? Clancy wouldn’t be that anymore, no, he’d never let himself be weak like that again.
Torch stares at the boy before him, covered in red, chest heaving. He can’t look away, can’t pull his eyes from it’s beauty. His beauty. Raw emotion covers him, undeniable in its strength.
When their eyes meet, Torch thinks he can name it. Unadulterated craving.
———
Clancy escaped Dema in search of something safe. Lost and wounded in the wilderness, he’s found by Torchbearer, his savior. Leader of a bizarre group, Torch will do anything to keep him safe. All Clancy really wanted was to be held, so who cares if the hands are blood stained? How can he judge when he’s just as steeped in it too?

Summary
Clancy left to join the bishops. Again. It's not the first time, but for once, it feels like it could be the last. What is Torchbearer without a Clancy? How is he supposed to lead when he himself is coming apart at the seams?
– – –
Torchbearer rolled over, stared into the bright gray of the clouds until his eyes watered. The cool sticky air clung to him, sinking deep inside. His eyes slipped shut.
If he lay here long enough, a car would come by. He knew that. Lying in the middle of the street, his yellow tape centered over his heart- it was a perfect target. Hit here, it screamed, right here, right where it hurts.

Summary
He glances down at his hands, and pauses. They are… wet.
Hot and wet, and it’s too dark to tell what it is. He blinks and his knees are sinking into thick mud rather than dry grass. He’s covered in smears of it, his shirt stained dark.
“Tyler?” Josh called, voice distant and… old. Repeated.
Tyler still turns, heart racing.
“Josh?” Tyler gasps, but he’s not there. He hasn’t been in a year. Now, he’s staring at the side of his house, the dead grass Josh was in charge of watering.

Summary
The building was a very well oiled machine. They had their shifts, their paths crossed but never had problems with each other. Everyone had their own routine.
That’s how Josh knew something had changed. Because at eleven on a Thursday Mark should be holed up in his office, not out talking to a blonde woman Josh had never seen before.or : the ballet classes have to move in Josh's building and he's not sure how to deal with it -- especially when the ballet teacher is a dick.

Summary
Tyler Joseph just wants to survive one more summer as a lifeguard without losing his mind—or his clipboard. But then Josh Dun shows up with a neon surfboard, no respect for red flags, and a smile that could drown him faster than any riptide.
It’s going to be a long summer.
Or maybe just the sweetest one yet.

Summary
Josh Dun signs up to volunteer at the local animal shelter to fill the quiet parts of his life. He doesn't expect to meet Tyler Joseph, the guarded vet tech with a weird thing about leashes being coiled correctly, who glares at everyone like they owe him money.
Tyler didn't need anyone messing up his routine, especially not someone who names every dog after a snack food and talks to them like they're coworkers. But there Josh was, all soft smiles and chaotic kindness, a new hair color every week. He makes the shelter feel like something other than a place where things come to break.
Tyler keeps pushing him away, but Josh keeps showing up. And against his better judgement, Tyler slowly wishes he'd stay.

Summary
Tyler reached a hand up. He wanted to touch the sky. He wanted to pull the stars down around him so he could prove that nothing was brighter than Josh’s smile.
The sky wasn’t as beautiful as Josh. The sky didn’t have the deep warmth of his eyes, it didn’t have the sound of his laughter, there were no wrinkles or smile lines. No smell of aftershave and generic deodorant. Tyler didn’t know why Josh was so obsessed with aliens, when he was the most interesting thing Tyler had ever seen.
Why go to heaven when there was somewhere better far from the sun?
