Strong arms wrap around him pulling him back. Further and further and devastatingly far from the ledge. Far from the end of his misery. He fights and hits but the arms don't let up. The arms finally let go and he whips around to see who kept him from freedom.
Hopper towers over him and he has fear in his eyes. More fear than Steve saw in them when they were facing literal monsters from hell.

Summary
Ever since Nancy and Steve broke up, his entire life has went to shit. He's failing his classes, his head hurts like a mother fucker, and now he's got to do a stupid extra credit assignment: write to a penpal. Who the hell even does that anymore anyway?
Well, he does. Because if he doesn't, not only is he getting shit-canned for the basketball season, but he's not going to pass his English class. Hopefully it won't be as stupid as he's thinking it will be.

Eddie just recently started having a record breaking attendance record at Hawkins High. After skipping at least three times a week, his attendance has been nearly flawless. Why?
Well, it has a lot to do with Wayne giving him that disappointed look..
and maybe a little to do with a guy that's obnoxiously handsome and has stupid fucking hair.

Steve has to do an assignment via writing letters to a penpal. What initially starts as a means to pass his senior year slowly turns into something much more. Of course his penpal is none other than Eddie Munson, who created an alias penpal as a means to connect with anyone who's even remotely different from the normies in this stupid town.
