Munson brings his mouth so close to Steve’s that their lips brush. He exhales out and Steve breathes in the smoke. The jock’s lightheaded, but he can’t tell if it’s the weed or the proximity to Munson. Maybe it’s both.
Munson lingers close, whispering a hair’s breadth from Steve’s lips, “Trick #1: Shotgunning.”
Steve gulps, throat sticky. He opens his eyes, looking into Munson’s dilated pupils. The metalhead’s gaze is intense as he seemingly stares directly into Steve’s soul. The world around them comes to a stop.
Munson’s voice trembles, “Tell me I’m not reading this wrong.”

Summary
As per usual on a Thursday, I had acquired ‘a mysterious illness’ and I was incapable of attending my 9am lecture. I was able to indulge myself in an extra couple hours of sleep, and to no one’s surprise I was dreaming about next week. The film broadcasting in my head kept jumping from scene to scene, usual for a dream I suppose. One moment I was sitting in a cafe with Will, both of us out of breath and red in the face, alluding to the fact we had to trek up Steep Hill to get there. The best cafes in Lincoln require the most effort to reach; food and coffee that do not have a tart aftertaste act as a reward for the hike. Will looked at me, with the same tenderness in his eyes as always. He started to say something that was untranscribable and then I was in Waterstones. The director called cut on that scene and now we were browsing books. “I’ve read that book, this one here too, oh and I have that one there but I haven’t read it yet.” I was rambling, even in my dream I was nervous. Maybe Freud was right, it is just a projection of the unconscious mind.

Summary
The dance was going alright, she supposed– as well as any middle school dance could be. Max had slow danced with Lucas, and was hanging out with her new friends.
So even if the decorations were a bit cheesy and most of her classmates were awkwardly hovering, Max was actually having fun.
She was standing at the table the party claimed, listening to Lucas and Dustin bicker about something pointless, when she saw Will slip out of the gym. Max looked around to see if anyone else had noticed, but with Lucas and Dustin preoccupied, and Mike and El still dancing, it appeared she was the only one.

Eddie sits up and rubs his eyes then flinches. Yeah that eye bruise is a bitch. Eddie looks confused and touches his nose and flinches again. He looks at Steve and then looks down at his hands. Those hurt too.
“Holy shit."
“Yeah."

“Yeah!"

So when Harrington pulls him into a room at a party, at somebody’s house, someone that Billy hasn’t bothered learning the name of, and says “Get it over with”, and Billy says “What?”, and Harrington says “Kick me! Punch me! Knock some of my teeth loose, whatever, you clearly need it! Fight me!”, it comes naturally to grab him by the collar of that stupid shirt he’s wearing and slot their mouths together.
