Summary
The great Candlin prank war of '72 has been described by later scholars as an exceptionally protracted and particularly sophisticated series of practical jokes which, despite all odds, ended with only bruised egos and no grievous bodily harm, unlike comparable events from the period.
Mycroft would describe it as the most trying and exhilarating two months of his life.

Summary
Sherlock has a habit of interrupting James's flirting, and a locked box of feelings in the back of his mind that might explain why he keeps doing it. It's the same box that knows why it feels like electricity when they touch, and why the way James says his name makes Sherlock lose all focus.
It's a good thing that boxes are meant to be opened.

Summary
“What do you look for, when you decide to bed a woman?” Sherlock’s voice rang out like a gunshot in the quiet on the carriage, and James’s eyes snapped onto him. He hadn’t been imagining the tension that had been sitting between them since Paris - heavy and impatient.
James met his level gaze. “Oh, many things. I’ll flirt with anything pretty, but only really bother goin’ any further if they’ve got some wits to match. Old romantic, I am - fall into bed with any girl who can insult me by being clever.”
“What’s it like?”
James chuckled. “You’ll have to be more specific, Sherly. The flirting, the fucking, the being insulted…”
“The fucking. How does it feel to lay with a woman.”

Summary
“Oh shit,” he says, eyes wide. And then, “oh fuck,” as he’s scooting backwards as quick as he can, “sorry, sorry, I’m sorry,” because what else can you say when you realize, oh, that’s not just a version of your friend that your brain conjured up, that’s your actual friend, the anthropomorphic personification of dreams, in your actual dream. The dream where you’re naked and waiting for him to come be naked with you.
