Why is she still alive? Did she somehow get resuscitated? There's no possible way. She's the only one on the ship with any medical knowledge, and they had no way to treat her properly or flush the meds.
She was too far gone by that point anyways, and even if they did manage to save her, she would've been in a world of pain just about now. She would've been unable to move.
But there's nothing. No pain.
Everything is just fine.

Summary
All Anya can hear is the fear in her breathing, her jackrabbiting, panicked pulse, and the dim electric buzz of the screens that surround her. Then, her eyes focus, and she makes out the figure sitting still at the head of her bed.
It's— herself. Anya, again. A mirror image that doesn't move with her as she shakily steps forward like she's in a trance, trying to make sense of what she's seeing.
"You're–" Her throat closes up as she notices the simulated stars shifting across the bridge of this other Anya's nose, briefly catching her mascara-thickened lashes with a glittering pixel of starlight. This is literally the version of herself she sees in the mirror when she gets ready in the morning made manifest, only this Anya looks... much more composed. How long has it been since her eyes looked that bright? She nearly forgot that the dark, sunken circles beneath her eyes haven't always been there.

It was when you grew still, your breathing slowed and you teetered on the brink of sleep that you’d feel Anya begin to shift.
Slowly, so slowly, she’d roll over, scooting closer until her forehead was pressed between your shoulder blades and her knees drew up to touch the back of your thighs. She would pause, and once she determined you were still asleep, her hands would draw up to the bottom of your sleeping shirt and grip it, holding the hem captive with long, tapered fingers that ghosted along the bare skin of your back.
