Summary
The Armed Detective Agency doesn’t really have a dress code, though Dazai-san is one of the detectives who follows the implied business-casual rule. Atsushi notes absentmindedly that today he’s wearing brown slacks, and a blue V-necked sweater over a white turtleneck. The beige coat Akutagawa’s eyes linger on every time Atsushi asks him how he’s doing at the Port Mafia is tucked into his elbow, perfectly folded.
Which is all to say it's another sunny, routine day in the office, where everyone is dressed as usual and acting like usual.
Until it's not.

Summary
Yu Ziyuan watches over her son. She knows this is it. Their allies will not hear about this attack soon enough to help, and there isn’t a single surviving Jiang disciple here to help their Sect Heir get away. Wei Wuxian may have had a drop more of filial piety than she thought him capable of (which was none at all), but that child was selfish before he was even arrogant. He would never risk his own lowly life for the sake of one of his betters.
Except that Wei Wuxian does come. With a Wen traitor in his tail, he comes back and gets her son. He even—he even fights to get their bodies back, Jiang Fengmian’s, and Yu Ziyuan’s as well. It’s too risky, insane even, and both conscious boys come to agree that they cannot manage it.
But the little beast came back, and he tried… he tried to save her, too.
Yu Ziyuan watches, and is torn.

Summary
It was common knowledge that Givers shared a piece of themselves with their Vital Instruments. However, many non-Givers didn’t know that this led to a more physical connection with the object. It’s regarded as a sort of coming-of-age experience for a new Giver to gradually begin to feel things through their Instruments. Some of the more philosophical Givers even claim that it’s because you need to pour some of your soul into an Instrument to use it.
