Summary
Jason forces his eyes open, squinting at the ghost before him. There is blood on Alfred’s warm, wrinkled hands. They’re both on the ground, Alfred kneeling in front of Jason where he’s sprawled on the cold cement floor.
Jason ripped out his stitches. Blood dribbles down over his neck, into his shirt collar. He’s—he was—
Bruce.
Jason sits up, scrambling away from Alfred’s touch. He clutches his bleeding throat. Alfred looks exactly how Jason remembered him. Kind. Patient. Still reaching for Jason’s neck with those healing hands, trying to help the boy who could never be helped. And then, over his head, past the small cell in the Batcave that Jason’s been thrown into like a rabid animal, Bruce stands outside the bulletproof glass, watching. Cowl-less. Heartless.
(An AU in which Jason didn’t wait to count to three before he pulled the trigger during the showdown with the Joker in Under the Red Hood. The Joker is dead. Batman slit Jason's throat. Now what?)

Summary
Jason Todd is a Shakespeare nerd. You know this, I know this, everyone knows this.
It is, in fact, so obvious because he will not stop quoting the man. Always, no matter the situation, he has a quote ready.
At the very least, everyone can tell what mood he's in depending on what play he's quoting. They call it the Jason Todd Shakespeare Scale.

Summary
It had started slow. Rhetorical questions asked to nobody in particular, a remark here or there, a glance at an invisible audience occasionally. Nothing that was outwardly concerning. Stuff he could pass off as exhausted rambling.
Then he found himself laughing at jokes that weren’t actually said out loud. He started agreeing to claims left unsaid, having debates with the air. All while sitting completely alone.
He managed to brush that off for a while. Everyone talks to themself sometimes, right? Jason wasn’t doing anything inherently worth worrying about. It stayed within the confines of his own home, he could act like one person around others. This was fine.
He started panicking when he started referring to himself as “we” or “us”.

Summary
Dick awoke on the couch, a blanket placed over them and some of his siblings asleep on him. His eyes roved over them, before resting on the figure sitting on the armchair. It was a kid in Dick’s robin costume. A kid with bright blue eyes, freckles and curly black hair. A kid who had blood running down his cheek, down his body, seeping into his clothes-
“Forgive me.” Dick said to his younger brother who was gone too soon.

Summary
Thirteen-year-old Jason Todd was stuck navigating life, maneuvering around his father and his unpredictable moods, while chasing the education he's always wanted. A surprise scholarship to Gotham Academy mid-way through the semester left Jason excited and hopeful for a brighter future, and life seemed good at first. He even made some friends, when a twelve-year-old named Tim Drake got assigned to show him around and decided to fold Jason into his little friend group.
But the longer Jason was there, the more angry his dad became. The more time Jason spent at school, the less time he spent running drugs for Black Mask's gang, and if Jason didn't pick up the slack, who was going to pay for his dad's alcohol habit?
Jason didn’t need rescuing. He wasn’t a damsel in distress, and this wasn’t a fantasy novel. But when his path crossed with Batman, Jason was going to have a mighty hard time saying "no."

Summary
"Tim’s eyes crinkled, “I don’t know! Sure, the Justice League is great yeah yeah, but there’s something meaningful about someone who does good just because he wants to. Like, yeah, all the other heroes are good people too, obviously, but if I had powers like Superman or Wonder Woman, I’d feel that obligation to use them, right? Versus Batman just has to wake up everyday and choose to risk his life for a safer Gotham.”
He looked down at his hands, flushing slightly, “Gosh, sorry, I sound like such a kid! He’s just… he’s always been an inspiration to me.”"
Or, in which Tim does an interview and walks right into an emotional talk with his dad.
