He remains unfazed, allowing you to take it from him. “These stupid fucking cards. Seen you sneak ‘em into your racesuit, too. Didn’t really take you for the superstitious type.”
A moment passes, before the grin on Sonny’s face widens as he stands up straight, taking the card back from you. Slow, artful, calculating.
“What do you mean, you’ve seen me sneak ‘em into my racesuit?” His voice is low, rough. His gaze doesn’t waver. “Been watching me in the changing rooms, have you, Joshua?”
