It was blurry and out of focus, but Peter was recognizable in it. And his hand was holding… hers. Both of their faces were exposed in this and Michelle’s heart raced faster and fasted in her chest at the sight of the picture.
“Not that I think this is any of your business,” Peter’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts and she braced herself for the inevitable. "But that's my girlfriend."

Michelle does't have a soulmark of any kind - which isn't rare, but it still is upsetting. And it also means that she's available to someone like Brad, who doesn't have a soulmark, either. So she does the first thing she thinks of when bumping into someone in the street and asks them to pretend to be her boyfriend. It goes as well as she expects it to go. Until it doesn't.

It wasn't that Bucky didn't like magic. He liked magic just fine. It was a natural part of the universe, the same as water or fire. But at the same time, magic sucked sometimes. Like when your house flooded or got set on fire, or your fairy guardian’s bestie needed someone who was immune to truth spells to marry his charge before his 21st birthday so that the kingdom wouldn't fall into the hands of a madman, and wouldn't you know that immunity to truth spells was part of the protection Bucky had been gifted with as a baby.

Summary
In this timeline, Loki finds out the secret of his heritage long before Thor's coronation. Tensions and frustrations lead Frigga to suggest Loki take a vacation for a few years, and he decides that Midgard would be the perfect place to lay low from expectations. The last thing Loki expects is to find herself falling in love with someone she can't help but find familiar.
I'm choosing not to use archive warnings because I am still writing this and I do not know what might apply. The only warnings that ever apply to my fic are for character deaths and violence, but I do not think I will go there with this one.

Thor knows it is his duty to the realm, to the crown, to his people, to gain them a Queen to stand by his side and have children to one day stand in his place, but that has never been something he has wanted—to be tethered to one single person for life. Sex doesn’t exactly sound pleasant either, (though Loki seems to enjoy it), so he really prefers to skip the entire ordeal if he can.
With Loki alive (though in prison) Thor no longer has mourning as an excuse to delay a marriage. Miraculously, Loki is the one to save him from it, again. (Post-Avengers 1)
