Summary
While Ilya was in the CT, Trinity had found a video of him getting checked. As gruesome a scene as it was, what stuck with her was the way Hollander had hovered. Cliff Marleau, a former teammate of Ilya’s from the Raiders, was unsurprisingly the first to his side after decking the Tampa defenseman, but Hollander was hot on his heels. She assumed that their allegiance for the sake of All-Stars would allow for some visible concern. Hollander was more than concerned.
Trinity Santos is deeply bitter about missing the Pittsburgh-hosted MLH All-Stars Game until Ilya Rozanov is checked hard enough to land on PTMC's doorstep. In treating her longtime idol, she catches on to hockey's best kept secret.

Summary
As she pauses to get a handful of hand sanitizer, she braces herself for whatever is behind this door. Maybe it’s an elaborate prank. Maybe it’s some kind of weird sex thing that no one wanted to deal with. But she hasn’t pissed anyone off in at least a month, and somehow, she can’t picture Abbot sanctioning this.
When she opens the door, she knows that this is absolutely not a prank. He stops pacing when he sees her, eyes wild and red rimmed. Last time Trinity saw him, he was drugged up and grinning at his boyfriend, but he’s deadly serious now. Said boyfriend is sitting on the gurney, the lower half of his face soaked in blood, eyes blank and unfocused.
“Mr. Rozanov,” she says.
“Ilya,” he says. “Can you help him?”
Pittsburgh's fans take out their frustrations at losing to the Centaurs on Shane. Ilya only trusts one person to take care of him.

Ilya hasn’t felt like this in a long time. He’s always amped up before a game, more so in the playoffs, but this is a different beast entirely. Every cell in his body thrums with an animalistic, red hot excitement. Victoria tries not to acknowledge it often, but here with Ilya and Shane, or when she goes to Trinity and Dennis’s for a movie night and Yolanda is there, or when Dr. Abbot comes in early just to see Samira for a few minutes, she wishes she had more in her life than the Pitt. She has told herself for years that everything could wait until she was settled in her medical career, and now that she somewhat is, it all feels even more confusing. Occasionally, her mind drifts to what almost was with Mateo, or to the cute blond player on the Centaurs. It never lingers there, though. She may have her career planned out, but she very rarely feels like she’s standing on steady ground.
Shane has a plus one to a formal event that Ilya can't use. Victoria gets a taste of what it's like to be friends with someone famous.

She feels safe, tucked to his side like this. A gnawing guilt claws at her chest, because she’s thinking about what the scene might have looked like to Ilya, who lost his mother to an overdose.
