Adam Murray woke on the cold floor, the chill seeping into his skin. His head throbbed with a dull ache. A faint, high-pitched ringing filled his ears. He blinked several times, vision swimming in and out of focus. The room was dark. Too dark. But he knew this place. The basement. The rough, stained concrete floor. The broken shelves lining the far wall. The familiar stench of mold, dust, and something faintly metallic. Yet… something was wrong. Different. He pushed against the floor, trying to sit up. His arms trembled. His body felt unbearably heavy in some places, yet hollow and weightless in others, like parts of him weren’t quite connected.

Things shift from there as Adam tries to come to terms with this new information and the resulting changes this has on him while Jonah tries to figure out what happened in that basement to make the other begin to act so strangely
