Summary
Dean's got this insane plan to rescue Castiel from the clutches of the Empty. Jack turns Dean into an angel, Dean kicks the bucket, dives into the Empty, finds Castiel, nabs his grace, turns him human, Jack brings Dean back to life, and then reverses the whole shebang. Sounds simple, right? Well, they underestimated the Empty, that asshole.
Dean strikes a questionable deal with said asshole, and now Castiel has to give Dean a crash course in angel stuff while Dean tries to teach Castiel how to be human. They both despise it, but hey, at least they're both breathing and since Castiel is back, Dean is (trying to be) ready for the next step: Love.

Summary
After a draining research for a hunt, which included attending to a party in formal wear, Cas needs a moment to himself, and finds himself in the back yard of the bunker. What he sees is mostly nothing, since the small field behind the building hadn't been attended to in ages. It's both depressing and inspiring, especially when Dean joins him, and the idea for a garden, for their own paradise takes place, and the planning begins.
Said planning is forgotten when the proximity of Cas's husband distracts him enough, but there's time. They have all the time in the world, so a little change of course means nothing in the big picture. The garden will happen, but so will this turn of events. Somehow they find their way into their room, though they're octopusing the whole way.
