On a cold November night, an outcast gives birth to a litter of kittens… and then mysteriously disappears.
Born just after the war, Munkustrap must battle abandonment, hardship and tragedy to become the Protector of the Jellicles and win over the heart of the tribe's most seductive queen, with brother Rum Tum Tugger acting as the thorn in his side and Macavity attempting to thwart him at every turn.
This is the first part of a biographical epic which follows Munkustrap through his life in post-war London.

Mistoffelees, being fed up with his antics, snaps at Tugger, which causes them both to get angry. Soon, they part ways, can't stand seeing each other. What will happen next? Will they ever love each other again? Or are they destined to be apart?

Mistoffolees had never really cared about making friends. All of the other Jellicles either still saw him as a helpless kitten or just wanted to see a magic trick, and he just liked his alone time. Besides, if he ever got lonely, his sister, Victoria was always there for him, and that's all he really needed.
Then the Rum Tum Tugger weaseled his way into Misto's life. Wary, the younger cat lets him stay, silently praying he's not another one of Tugger's fleeting interests. But he's smart, he knows not to get too invested in the fickle cat. Even as he starts seeing new sides of Tugger, sides that were never shown while in the spotlight, he never allows himself to get his hopes up.
