“What?” Remus said, finally turning to look at him and leaning in close. “You jealous?” he breathed in Sirius’ ear. Sirius fought the incomprehensible urge to shudder.
“Jealous of what?” he asked, staring fixedly at a small chandelier that hung from the ceiling. One of its bulbs was flickering, and he latched onto it as if it were the most interesting thing in the world.
“You tell me,” Remus said, leaning back at last and giving him the space to breathe again.
Sirius turned his head slowly to find Remus looking at him, a smirk dancing across his face.
But then, “Relax mate, I’m just messing with you,” Remus said, clapping him on the back before pushing out his chair and sloping off to Madam Pince, finished with his book.
Sirius was left there floundering for a moment. Was he jealous? Sirius? He almost laughed.
What did that scrawny, little year four have on him that he should be jealous of? As if.

Peter’s heart started to race, a drum banging a slow, constant tune of anxiety. What if he wasn’t good enough? What if he wasn’t as smart as his sister, or as personable as James? What if no-one liked him? Thoughts span through his head like a whirlpool, as he thought about the next 7 years. He looked up and caught a glimpse of James’ wild, excited eyes, and his anxiety straight away dissipated. Because who could ever feel nervous with a boy like James stood next to him?

I was rereading the masterpiece that is All the Young Dudes, and had this idea for a character called Ollie. I noticed there was nothing about Oliver Woods' parents anywhere in the mauraders lore or even in the original novels, but he was my childhood crush, so I figured we should give him some rep. ok so this is like an au where the marauders characters, specifically the versions from atyd (we love you MsKingbean89) replace characters from arcane. some of the relationships are slightly altered, and some roles are added to make the story feel better to me, and none of the arcane ships really apply. some of where I placed the characters is kinda wonky but I think most of them are pretty good.
first chapter is a better explanation than I can do here, but after that it's one shots of arcane but with the marauders/marauders cast

The sun had set hours ago, Regulus had sat in this darkened hallway waiting since long before then. He was waiting to find out what his assignment was, which commander he would be under for his first few months under the ministry's side of the fight. He already knew he'd be heading to the training for the front lines, that's what the Dark Lord had told him before he left for this mission. He had been fighting for the death eaters since he was 15 years old.
Right after his brother left, Regulus’s parents decided his time would be better spent with other pure blood children learning ways to defend. He had learned from the best, the Dark Lord. Regulus was always told how his brother was a failure and a traitor for defecting to the other side.
He hadn't seen Sirius since that night, only heard things about him, when he was 15 he found out his brother had become a high ranking general for the other side. It was a few weeks after the Dark Lord had marked Regulus, and his parents were out celebrating his becoming an official follower.
Now his personal mission was to find and bring his brother back while fighting from the inside.

James is quite happy with his life in Edinburgh with his on-off girlfriend Lily, he has no idea how much of a whirlwind he's about to be put through when Regulus arrives in town
