From where he is standing just outside the doors to the main hall, Geralt can make out Jaskier’s profile against the large fireplace. Opposite of him sits Eskel, a hand resting over Jaskier’s wrist. They are both looking down at the table, down at their large mugs of drink, and Geralt can feel his heart sink.
“He wouldn’t have asked you to come if he didn’t care,” Eskel tries, and Jaskier gives a sad smile.

When Eskel sees the first petal, it's so small he thinks nothing of it. While witchers don’t contract common diseases, it doesn’t prevent them from coughing up a bit of blood every now and again. When more and more continue to fall from his lips, he can’t deny the evidence in his hands. Small, delicate, red-pink petals that could blow away in the breeze with a single breath. So little that when he goes to collect them onto his handkerchief, he has to time his movements with his slowing heartbeat so as to not damage them further. Eskel knows his love will never be requited but he can have this part of Lambert.

Summary
Vesemir had reached his limit with the chaos in the keep. Between the bickering, injuries, and general mayhem, he was desperate for a break. Fortunately, rumors of a strange new creature near the village at the bottom of the mountain had been circulating. Vesemir dismissed them as likely exaggerations but seized the opportunity to send his boys away for a few days, hoping for some much-needed peace.
However, things didn’t go as planned. When the witchers arrived in the village, they discovered there had been a hostile take over. A new mayor, who hates non-humans, was now in command. With no place to stay, the witchers were left with no real shelter from the cold. One of them was already injured, another was falling ill but stubbornly refusing medical help.
When they finally tracked down the rumored creature, the situation only worsened—it transformed them into children. Forced to navigate their way back up the mountain in their new forms, they encountered even more misfortune. A horrifying monster attacked, trapping them. With no way to contact Vesemir the witchers have to get a bit creative. once rescued shenanigans ensue at the keep with Vesemir trying to reangle all the little witchers. -
