Summary
Jon's a witch (which in this universe means he has magical powers but he does need to feed on other people's trauma to survive) in a land where being one is punishable by death so he's got to keep it hidden. (Realistically, witches can generally protect themselves but Jon doesn't actually want to hurt anyone so he's been starving himself from trauma which weakens him quite a bit). Martin works at a tavern and he's been crushing on the cute newcomer to town. One day after some accidental handkerchief code, he thinks Jon's into him and wants him to follow. Jon thinks he's being chased to his death.

Summary
Jon and Martin wake up after the Panopticon in their childhood bedrooms. Jon is 7, Martin is 8. Jon hasn't been touched by the Web yet and Martin's parents are still together. They have retained all their adult memories and knowledge and selves and are just stuck in their younger selves' bodies.
Now they have to live through their childhood years again but can hopefully make some improvements the second time around.
