The doctor felt that something was wrong—really wrong. This is wrong. But he felt helpless. As the TARDIS landed, the screen was still showing nothing, like the TARDIS was also struggling to read where it landed which was an awesome feat to whoever pulled them over. The doctor still tried to make something out of it. One thing’s for sure is that he was out of his natural timeline, dimension even. The atmosphere felt weird even inside. He slowly approached the door before taking his coat and ran out into the unknown.
“Who in god’s name are you?” A tall man dressed in black and cyan asked, pointing a large and sharp staff at him. The doctor was also baffled at the appearance of the man.

Stanley scoffs, taking another swig of whatever beer Fiddleford grabbed off the store's shelves earlier on their weekly grocery run. it burned going down but he drank enough until he could come up with an answer.

The inventor watches Stanley intently, a man he's come to know after months of working together, his eyebrows furrowed but with a soft set to his face. "than why are you trying to rebuild the portal?"

What if Stanley found out that another person helped build that portal? What if Stanley went to seek them out but they were nothing like he expected? What if while trying to get his brother back, he gains something else in the process?
What if, while Fiddleford was the middle of a mental spiral, someone was there to help him? What if instead of the constant urge to forget everything, somthing comes into his life which makes him want to keep remembering?

Soon after the blasted portal had decided to grab, yank, and pull him out from his home dimension, Stanford Pines ends up in a dimension seemingly similar to his own. Yes, the fauna is a bit fantastical, and the flora definitely have independent thought, but that's the fascinating part! If only he had his journals with him.
The unpleasant part is the half he's attempting to ignore. The fact that he's dimensions away from his home and might never see his family again, the only people he's ever trusted have betrayed him, and that He could track Ford down at any given moment are things he'd rather not focus on at the moment. He has other worries.
Like why are there only earthquakes during the day? And how do the four moons share the tides? Where is the closest source of water, and is it safe to drink?

The portal left its mark on Ford in more ways than one, Stan knows this. He's been through some less than stellar experiences, but things are better now! Ford shouldn't be so stubborn. Injuries are more important than keeping his favorite sweater on for whatever weird baggage he has around it. And if Stan has to force him to actually take care of himself, then so be it. Because apparently, he has to be the one with common sense around here. Unbelievable.
