1. This is a much younger, although still very familiar, version of Camelot.
2. Uther Pendragon is alive, and is unfortunately the one talking.
3. Merlin is much shorter. That might just be the worst of the three. -

Back by the Valley of the Fallen Kings, the sorcerer had laughed and wished them ‘good luck, little knights. And goodbye.’ Arthur had realized they wouldn’t be able to fight their way out of this, when the sorcerer had started chanting he had shouted at them to ‘Run!’

Merlin paused, took a deep breath, and a delicate, red band appeared in front of him, softly flowing in the breeze. It was wrapped around his wrist and then disappeared into the distance.
Merlin took it between his fingers, held it as he focused on the gentle pull he felt. With his eyes, he followed the faint thread into the distance and couldn’t help but wonder who might be awaiting him on the other side.

If the atmosphere he’d just left was any indication, the festivities would keep going for hours yet—maybe even days. And why shouldn’t they? The whole of Camelot was rejoicing in the safe return of its king, who, until that afternoon, they had thought lost.
