“Okay fine, how do I spongify something?” Regulus asks.
“First of all, you’ll want to start with something that won’t take someone’s head off,” She tells him, as she snatches the scroll that Evan was writing in, “that stone is too heavy.”
Regulus smiles and hands the scroll back to Evan. Evan throws it at his sister, but it bounces off of her and Dorcas catches it. Dorcas throws it at the floor with a laugh, and it bounces back up to hit the ceiling and then the telescope. Next thing Regulus knows, the four of them are laughing as they try to catch the scroll as it bounces off of every surface imaginable.

“Remus, he needs someone who can connect with him…” Minerva’s voice had a desperate edge to it, “He doesn’t trust us.”
“And you think he’ll trust me? I’m as much a stranger to him as you.” He turned his eyes to Dumbledore, pushing past the discomfort as they made eye contact and his soul was pierced by the shrewd gaze.
“We think he may trust you because you and he have similar… backgrounds.”
He frowns at her, trying to put the pieces of what she’s saying together. Similar backgrounds? Shitty childhoods, maybe?
“Harry was not attacked.” Dumbledore says, breaking the silence, “He perpetrated it.”
A cold chill runs through Remus’ body. His mouth is suddenly far too dry and he feels as if bands wrap around his chest. He shakes his head.
“What?” He wheezes out, feeling all at once that his chest will cave in when he hears what Dumbledore has to say.
“I’m sorry to have to tell you this.” Dumbledore sounds truly grieved, and Remus feels bile rise in his throat. He’d used that same tone of voice when he’d found him after news about James and Lily, Peter and Sirius had broken. Had it really already been four years since he’d lost them?

Regulus watches the car approach from the balcony, the music blaring. As if the whole ordeal wasn't over the top enough, he starts honking along to the beat, before he sticks his head out the open driver window and whoops loudly. Regulus rolls his eyes but there's a small fond smile pulling at the corner of his lips as he steps back into his room and makes his way down the stairs to greet the newcomers. One could say he skipped down the steps, although he would vehemently deny this observation.
It's not that Regulus isn't happy Sirius seems to have made such good friends while he was away. Of course he's happy for his brother. But he won't lie and say he's excited necessarily about having three strangers in his house. Strangers who all know each other, who already have comfortable dynamics he's somehow meant to fit into. It's… daunting.

Remus & Sirius are childhoood friends who meet at ten because the Lupins used to work for the Blacks. But for circumstances they break apart. But Remus gets a scholarship to Hogwarts in sixth year. Muggleborns= Scholarshipped kids. Purebloods= Rich kids. More like. There is still discrimination for the scholarshipped ones. -
