Six months after she was poisoned and three months after starting an 'elevated platonic relationship' with Lucifer, Chloe decides she'd like to go one step further to a full romantic relationship with him. Lucifer refuses until she recognizes that he is the Devil, but when he subsequently proves it to a disbelieving Chloe, it goes very poorly. Once she realizes how terrible her behavior toward him was, she has to work her hardest to bring Lucifer back to her emotionally and geographically.
(The 'Sequelae of the fall' version of how Chloe learned the truth, but it can be read outside of the series without any issue.)

Summary
When Lucifer tricked Amenadiel into allowing him to stay in Los Angeles in 2011, it caused upheaval in Heaven. Michael, already secretly living on the East Coast for more than a decade, was recalled to Heaven to sit at their Father's right hand as they worked out the governance of Hell and what to do with Lucifer. Before anything was settled, however, their Father released him back to Earth in December 2015. Drawn to Los Angeles after watching it in Lucifer's life for almost five years, he moved there.
It's February 2018, and Michael hasn't made a single attempt to track down Lucifer or get any update on his life, content to just exist peacefully and solitarily as he did in Boston and Baltimore. Following an erroneous page at work, however, Dr Demiurgos finds that his twin’s life has changed exponentially in the last two years, the Devil can love and be loved unconditionally, and their Father may not be as benevolent as he'd always assumed.

Summary
Lucifer wasn't the only one that fell after the first rebellion in history. His twin, Michael, fell with him into exile along with two specially made angel twins - Lilith and Eve. Together, they brought the wonders of creation to Hell, forming an entire realm of unique life capable of surviving the harshness of their surroundings. They were the Kings and Queens of Hell, often referred to as Hell's Gods and Goddesses by their devout demon followers.
Numerous angels were not impressed by the happiness the four Fallen Angels had found, despite their eternal punishment, and made plans to destroy it. Destroy it they did, for the Queens of Hell were murdered in their home, leaving Lucifer in a state of depression-induced bitterness, Michael marinating in vengeful anger, and Hell reduced to a frozen and barren wasteland.
Eight Earth years later, thousands of years Hell-time, on the anniversary of the Queens' death, Lucifer comes face-to-face with a human that turns their world on its axis. Could she and her sister be the salvation that they, and Hell, have been waiting for?

The decision for Lucifer to leave Earth and for Chloe to lie about it for the rest of her life hurts not just one child, but two - except they never considered Trixie when making that choice. After all, she's not Lucifer's real daughter, and she can be told the truth eventually. Why should she be affected the same way? Surely she'd understand why it's necessary.
Except she doesn't. Trixie doesn't understand in the slightest why anyone would think it's a good idea to make Rory feel unloved her entire life, or why her father would leave by choice when Trixie's was forcibly taken from her. She wants no part in this lie, wants to save her little sister before it's too late - but Chloe refuses to listen. No matter what she does, she'll be forced to participate in this cycle of pain and anger for decades.
It's only when she leaves and finds her real family that she can start to heal. But the loop goes on, and there are some things that you can never get back.
