Summary
In this world the dead no longer move on to the Afterlife but stay in this one as shades and shades are attracted to emotions expressed through art that remind them of their lives. To prevent these shades from becoming too potent, the people of Drab City have labeled anything that's artistic "Vanity" and banned them. The worst kind of Vanity, punishable by death, are performing arts.
A lot of people have been killed because of this, Haru is the newest victim of this practice, but after he dies he wakes up in a gothic mansion, rejuvenated and bloodthirsty. He joins three others like him who reside in the mansion, Rui, Wumuti and Hyun and as is part of their vampiric agreement, they work together to help the shades move on by bringing back the grim reaper while battling bloodthirst and vengeful intent.
Tw: Haru dies in the first chapter.
