Or so he thought.
Just seconds after Connor’s death, the unfinished RK700 unexpectedly wakes up, having been nothing but an empty shell until now. But he’s incomplete, with systems full of errors and no access to his memories...and a different face. He doesn’t know he’s Connor, and neither does anyone else.
Meanwhile, Hank and Markus band together to find out how the android detective died, and if it’s related to the recent string of murders—both human and android—that Detective Reed has been following.
And in the background, Amanda’s loyal soldier searches for its escaped quarry, all while trying to undo everything that Markus worked for.

Summary

His only company: two sea-dwelling predators. Meanwhile, his surviving partner North can't accept the loss of her love and is hell-bent on retribution as her only way of coping. This path leads her to encounter Elijah Kamski, a scientist with an unsettling fascination for the creature she witnessed on the night of Markus' disappearance.

“You hear me, plastic asshole?” Hank asked. Connor tilted his head at the approaching lieutenant. He didn't look the least bit intimidated.
“Hank…” Fowler warned. He was on his feet now, trying to decide whether he should step in or not.
“I don’t like you," Hank continued, ignoring his boss and getting in the android's face. "Any of you. If it were up to me, I would round all you plastics up, throw you in a dumpster, and light the match!”
The grin on Connor's face widened. His eyes searched Hank with a morbid fascination.
“Well, what do you know, Lieutenant,” the Deviant Hunter said. “We have something in common after all…”
After the Android Revolution in 2036, Jericho became its own, separate city that floats in the river and borders Detroit. Reintegration with humans is slow but both sides are optimistic in its success.
Especially Markus, who can just send out his loyal and legendary Deviant Hunter to take care of any androids that aren't compliant with his peaceful ways.
...Or use him to team up with a washed-up Lieutenant Anderson to investigate android disappearances in Detroit when the FBI seemingly 'forgot' to inform Jericho of the problem.

Law enforcement. That was certainly… new. As far as Connor knew, that was the exact opposite of what he had been made for. His missions up until now had all been of a more illegal variety.

Connor-51 falls to his death with an android named Daniel.
Connor-52 deviates in Jericho and is later killed in a church.
Connor-53 shows up a few hours later on a rooftop, sniper rifle in hand and sights trained on the back of Markus's head.
It's up to Hank to piece together what happened and try to get Connor to deviate again, but Connor has made up his mind. Only one of them will be leaving that rooftop.

Simon felt Bob and Lucius’s eyes slowly look up from the commotion fading into the distance and tracking all the way to the side of his face.
“...I’ll be right back,” he muttered, padding his skies in a circle against the snow, then pushing off to go retrieve Jack before he ended up in the hospital again.

Frozone's NSA tape mentions he and his friends would go skiing sometimes. So I interpreted that to mean I needed to write a super mushy scene of Simon and Jack hanging out at a ski resort.

A laugh, soft and practised, slipped free from Boy before he could think. “Adrenaline,” He replied, his tone shaped into nonchalance. “Delicate work. It’s exciting. You wouldn’t understand.”
Kirsh said nothing. His gaze lowered once, catching the faint stain blooming through the cloth, red, bleeding and blooming across white.
Boy shifted, his wrist sliding behind the silhouette of a glass beaker, his smile narrowing. “Everything’s under control.”
