"Father!" The cry pierced Odin's ears, and it pained Odin to admit to himself that he missed that voice. From the emotion in the shout that echoed the room, Odin thought that Loki must have missed him as much as Odin had missed Loki. Odin wished there could be an opportunity to make things right with his son, but he suspected this moment with Loki was going to be his last.
Odin could hear footsteps running towards him and he felt his heart swell with regret for his damaged relationship with his adopted son. How had he allowed things to go so wrong with Loki? Odin tried to force himself to call out to Loki, but his voice emitted a hollow creek instead of forming words. Odin struggled to turn his head to Loki as he heard the footsteps reach him, he was able to see Loki in the corner of his eye as he ran past Odin and kneeled down at the titan's feet.
