Seven minutes to relive everything you have ever done, where the good and the bad flash in front of your eyes. Time slows and crumbles as it defies its rules and it leaves you, quiet for a second amongst the chaos.
Watching as the broken relationships and your worst experiences bite and snap at you, unable to get close enough as they strain at their leashes like rabid dogs.
But they can’t reach you unless you let them, although sometimes they worm their way in, pulling you towards them, making you need to grab them, to reach out to them, your curiosity spiking as you need to relive them, even though the pain was almost too much to bear the first time.
Almost.
Instead, you try to focus on the good ones.
But the bad ones are stubborn, the bad ones come back, they always do.

Every muscle in Curt’s body seemed to stall its own functions for a matter of seconds, where he realized three things:
First: he could pick out that voice in a crowded room. Twelve people or twelve thousand, the numbers didn’t matter — he could recall each delicate inflection, the thick accent’s indicative lilts on certain turns of phrase. He knew it inside and out.
Second: as far as he’d known, the voice’s owner was long dead.
Curt flinched at the way his voice cracked when it came out, soft and breathy and almost imperceptible. “W— what?”
Third: Curt Mega had an unfortunate habit of being very, very wrong.

Summary
The Cold War is ratcheting up, tensions between the Soviet Union and America are beginning to boil over into pseudo-warfare.
Then the unthinkable occurs in England, a spy ring has been discovered, and they have been siphoning Allied secrets to the Soviets. MI6 does not have all the suspects, leaving the Americans unable to trust their closest allies.
Curt bears some of the brunt of this suspicion when he is placed on babysitting duty with the infamous agent, Owen Carvour, the previous mentee of Guy Burgess, one of the members of what is being called The Cambridge Ring.
Tensions rise between the two as they both try to prove themselves to their respective agencies.
