A box was suddenly plopped down on the table next to Marmalade.
She jumped slightly, and frowned at it. It wasn’t very big; actually, it was pretty small. A square box, about five inches all around, with no decorations; just brown cardboard and packaging tape.
Marm glanced at Avid, who had placed the box beside her and was now studying her like he was trying not to give her too much attention but was too curious to look away.
“What is this?” Marm asked carefully.
Avid tapped his fingernails casually on the tabletop. “It’s a… gift.”OR: Just a little Avilade thing to feed the Mass :D
