“Why do people you know have to keep getting married?” asked Tori.
It was a question that Charlie Spring didn’t have an answer to, except that maybe the universe was trying really quite hard to bring him and Nick Nelson together.

Summary
Otis is turning 16 and invites Charlie and his friends to his birthday party at the old Scouts Hall. Charlie sends a frantic message to the friend group chat for someone to pretend to be his boyfriend to rescue him from an awkward social situation. But Elle can’t find Isaac or Tao …
Set loosely during the ‘half-term hanging out nonstop’ era, if Nick was much more self-aware than he probably was at that point.
CW: derogatory ableist words: these kids curse themselves in their heads a lot! I’ve used ableist insults for this.

Bookmarker's Notes
I relate 100% to the hilarity and terror of very enthusiastic, loquacious people finding you no matter where you go. And Nick thinking, "What is Charlie thinking what is Charlie thinking what is Charlie thinking" is spot-on. 👏

Summary
Nick Nelson is fed up. Fed up of hospitals, fed up of restricted cups of tea and especially fed up of new roommates who come and go. That is, until a little boy with a broken arm arrives and brings his vaguely familiar big brother with him.

Summary
Ben Hope is a successful, happily married, father of two, and a great boss for the staff at his newspaper.
Isn’t he?
‘Hope’ is a short character study of the layers of people, how they present in different companies versus their innermost thoughts and feelings, and the grey area that lies between a villain arc and a redemption arc. It considers how nature and nurture can influence how a person turns out. Can Hope really make a difference to who we are?
