When the chains were finally untangled, he didn't stop. His hands smoothed the satin down your back with possessive precision, arranging the drape just so, his fingers tracing the lines of the chains against your skin.
The words sank into you like hooks. Because he was right. God help you, he was right.

“It doesn’t matter. You don’t know me. Stop pretending like you know everything.”
“Of course I know you, you ungrateful fucking brat,” he maintains. “I know everything about you.”
I shake my head and pry at his hand on my jaw.
He only tightens his grip before continuing, “You signed a contract, remember? You don’t get to back out now, baby. You’re seeing this through to the end.”
