Summary
In room 1410, Ilya Rozanov is ready to walk out the door after successfully getting his 19 year old hockey rival into bed. He knew how to make this moment happen and he knows what they have to be to each other now that it's over. But as he turns the doorknob to leave, he's stopped with questions he never expected. And giving Shane Hollander what he needs in that moment will change everything.

Covers the first two years of their rookie seasons (which is mostly skipped over in the show/books). Canon divergent from the first hookup seen in HR s01ep01. Most things are from the show but the timeline is a mix of both; Hunter and Marleau are aged up per the show instead of as young as they are in the books. (Also, Shane and Ilya don't wait *two years*, they stick to the book timeline. IYKYK.)

Shane knew he deserved to be punished for leaving. He wanted to be good for Ilya, wanted to prove he belonged to him completely. But as the freezing tiles of the basement meet his bare feet and Ilya reaches for the freshly carved ginger, Shane realizes this punishment will push him further than he ever expected.

“Hollander,” Ilya replied stiffly, trying his best to school his tone. “You never call me.”
“I need–nngh–“ he panted out.
Ilya froze, all of the questions in his head like “What are you doing?” and “Why are you calling me?” and “Why haven’t we spoken in so long?” immediately dissipating because that didn’t matter, not when it sounded like–
“Are…are you touching yourself, Hollander?” Ilya asked, voice dropping low.
“N-no,” Shane whimpered and fuck he missed hearing him like this. His thready breaths alone made Ilya grab at his sheets, his dick immediately perking up in interest. “I’m not–I’m not touching. I’m–fuck–”
“You’re what?” Ilya demanded. “Finish the sentence.”
“I’m humping a pillow.” The admission hung heavy in the air, and for a split second, Ilya lost all ability to speak.
Shane Hollander wakes up with a vagina and can't get himself off. He calls the one person who can help him.
