Shaal hadn't been interested in the event when his mother announced their kingdom would be taking part. He much preferred to spend his time in solitude in his garden. Which is why it was all the more vexing when he won, and now he had an oversized and animalistic being from another world for a partner and it's his duty to figure out how to communicate and keep it happy, or the entire kingdom would fall. Ava just wants to retire with her tumors in peace, but the convict is back at the side of a man offering her people the world. She has always been one to prioritize. So if she had to choke down her pride to befriend a terrorist so her people can have a home? By God, choke she would.
