Maxine Mayfield is a werewolf.
It wasn’t as hard to hide as the movies make it out to be. But it wasn’t easy mentally. She would always be an outcast, doomed to never feel the presence of a pack.
That is, until she moves to Hawkins, Indiana after biting a kid in her old school. They’re not wolves like her, but they’ll do.“There’s no more community gardens,

Max was ever the fiery spirit. And it was painfully obvious in every way that she came from California. Whether that be her tan, her rad skateboard, or her uncaring demeanor.
But what happens when you take a born and raised Californian and drop her in the middle of Indiana in October? She suffers, that’s what.She’s gotten good at ignoring the temperature, truthfully. Nobody questions the occasional extra layer she’ll wear. But when winter arrives and snow finally falls, her mood crashes.
And now, she’s snowed in at the Byers, surrounded by the overprotective swarm of nerds she’s become acquainted with in these past two months.Forced to face her brewing inner conflict, Max has to come to the realization that maybe, just maybe… she could let someone in.

Somehow, she must have slipped from Vecna’s clawed grasp, because one minute she was still and unmoving in Lucas’s arms, and the next, she was face to face with herself.
Making contact with her strange clone, she is sent back to the day after Halloween, in 1984.
The day Will was taken by The Mind Flayer.
After realizing her predicament, she finds it up to her to prevent the dominos of fate from falling. But will she manage, or will it be too late? And will she ever discover why she has been sent back in time?Aka: Max is sent back in time after her death.
