Jason was a tiger shark. In theory, he should grow up to be one of the most dangerous predators in the mer world, more than capable of hunting alone. But right now—he was a pup with no pod, and that put him on the menu for anything bigger than him. And that was a long list.But Jason had to feed himself, or he would die.
And to eat, he needed to hunt.
And to hunt, he needed to dive into Gotham Gorge where there was hypothetically, potentially, maybe, rumored to be a legendarily dangerous sea monster who would undeniably rip him to plankton-sized pieces if they actually existed.

Now it was Nathan's turn to cringe with a sheepish smile as he admitted. "We, uh, actually tried that last year."

Dick strolled up to Bruce as he worked at the Batcomputer with confidence Jason couldn't imagine. “Hey Bruce.”
“Yes, chum?” Bruce responded, calmly sipping his coffee as he scrolled through updates on the Batcomputer without even looking up.
“I’m Bi.”
The Batman choked on his coffee, sputtering and spewing the hot drink onto the computer in shock. “WHAT?!” Bruce whirled around in his chair, soaked in coffee, and eyes looking panicked and angry.
“What the fuck is that reaction?” Dick snarled back in response, tugging Jason behind him and blustering up into full on Fight-Bruce mode. “YOU'RE BI TOO!”

The new villain Veritas turned towards Bruce, syringe out and pointed towards the arm chained to his podium.“NOW! Under the compulsion of the serum, expose your true feelings: Tell the world what you hate the most about: Nightwing.”
Dick froze—every argument, every accusation thrown between the two running through his mind. He wasn’t sure if he could take it—to hear it spoken truthfully and directly. Hearing all of Bruce’s hatred, contempt, and disappointment in him poured out not just in a heated yelling match in the cave but in front of Damian, in front of the whole world.
Bruce coughed, blood flicking from his lips from a failed attempt to bite his tongue, and Dick hung his head in resignation. It was at least nice to know Bruce wasn’t eager to dump out his true feelings.
“His suit.” Bruce choked, and the room went silent.
