In a flash of unexplained magic, Tim gets turned into a Timbit – a de-aged, amnesiac child of six or so. Jason would probably find this a hilarious turn of events if the child in question hadn’t fully committed to the notion that Jason was his one true safe space.

Dick and Bruce have been fighting the entire time Jason's known them. It's disappointing and annoying but it's not like he's not used to it. It isn't until Tim comes to live with them that it becomes a problem, though. This is no environment for a little kid to grow up in.

Jason was the one who had suggested this entire arrangement (slowly, haltingly, over the course of many months of false starts and shame-filled excuses.) Tim was so happy to get to indulge him like this.
Occasionally, though, Tim was a little concerned about himself. He may like this whole thing a little too much.
Tim and Jason have a system. It involves a custom developed sedative, a handcrafted bench, and a carefully curated list of friends who are all under contract to behave themselves. It also involves Jason pretending that he doesn't know exactly what's going to happen to him after he drinks his chamomile tea.

Jason’s eyes fluttered open to a slow ache hammering behind his temples, his tongue swollen and sticky against the roof of his mouth. The ceiling above was wrong, foreign: modern dark steel beams crisscrossed overhead, LED bulbs set into recesses, no smell of city air, no sound of wind or traffic, just a sterile hum pressing into his skull. The air smelled faintly of pine. He tried to shift, but his arms dragged taut against something above his head.

When Bruce reminds Jason that all he's ever been - all he'll ever be - is a loose cannon with anger issues, it's Tim, surprisingly, who says otherwise. Maybe things aren't how people seem to remember them and maybe Tim, the resident expert on all things Batfam, finally has his moment to shine and remind Jason of who he really is.
