Summary
A regular bystander wouldn’t have noticed in the slightest, not even a simple acquaintance that barely saw him on the daily. A friend who wasn’t in the know would eventually realize it in time, but to the naked eye, nothing had changed within Sonic.
So of course, it took Shadow seconds to figure out that he was so much slower now.
Or: Shadow has to learn how to be an Orpheus.

Summary
A year. It had been a year since he’d been pulled out of stasis. A year since he’d nearly gone too far down a dark path of vengeance and hatred, still reeling from the loss buried in his heart. A year since G.U.N had sent a bunch of rookies to take him out, including the hedgehog who he’d fought side by side with the last time they saw each other despite their past animosity.
A year, he’d been mourning the loss of those five decades. Of Maria.

Summary
A small part of her loyal to Kieferberg begged her to turn Elise in, to side with the townspeople the more things went awry as the week passed. It was her own bias keeping her from seeing what was right in front of her. She had to face the fact that her Elise had struck a deal with the devil for her own benefit, it would explain her strange behaviour after all.
Her dreams, her goals; all of which could be fulfilled by a simple wish that their own prayers couldn’t grant.
And every time, Lebkuchen told herself to shove it.
Or: Lebkuchen going from trusting Elise with her life to the very end of it.

Summary
Once White Space had crumbled, once the Time Eater had been defeated, Shadow had expected the rest of his Doom Powers to fade alongside them. They were powerful, sure, but he wasn’t eager to have to deal with them moving forward. For the most part, his Chaos abilities were enough to get the job done, and he mostly left it at that.
Much to his dismay, however, the Doom Powers didn’t leave. They instead made themselves painfully obvious over the next week or so.
Or: Shadow has to deal with the effects of his adventure in White Space, one at a time.

Her skirts crumpled as she keeled over, each rattling cough sending her head spinning in a panic. As her throat remained alarmingly tight, she silently begged for something, anything to loosen it.

Grian presumed his soul was actively leaving his body – providing him with just another last minute delusion to take him into the next life - until he heard music.
His tired delusions were a lot of things, but they were never music.
Grian blinked, once, twice, then a third time. Still, the shape on the horizon didn’t fade. The light didn’t fade. The music didn’t fade. This wasn’t the blurry shadow of what may or may not be a rock, or the light of the moon against a wave imitating a town. This was a genuine miracle. This was his relief.

Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
