Obviously Bruce volunteers, but so does Wonder Woman. And Nightwing.
Jason is given the option to choose who he would like to mentor him.
Bruce, the father figure he constantly complains about, or Diana, his favorite hero, or Dick, the sappy annoying older brother.
Bruce can feel the grey hairs coming.

Summary
When Batman stepped out of the White Collar elevator, Jason’s brain was too busy cursing the universe with every swear word he knew to pay too much attention to the man.
Jason looked up, and the sudden rush of movement caught someone's attention. He made eye contact, and he knew they made eye contact despite the white gloss of the cowl, with The Dark Knight.
And that… was not Bruce.
“‘Wing? Why the fuck are you in the cowl?”
Dick paled and stumbled, taking a few steps back to stabilize himself. “Jason?” He asked breathlessly.
or
Jason!Neal encounters Dick!Batman after Bruce is lost in the time stream and presumed dead while no one knows Jason is alive.

Hollander's parents must be supportive and nice, if he's thinking of coming out to them. Ilya doesn't even dare to fantasize about coming out to his family. The closest he's come to that are the nightmares about being outed. He doesn't want to even think what that would entail for him. But he knows.
Fuck Hollander. He even managed to make Ilya feel sorry for him. Because Ilya can't fathom how dreadful life would be without the option to choose a nice woman to learn to love, if circumstances ever got dire. But Hollander won't have to think of that anymore. Which is nice, of course. Ilya is not a monster. But fuck him.

OR: Shane Hollander comes out in 2012 and he's determined to prove he can be queer, Asian, and the best player in the league. Ilya Rozanov is none of those things. Except maybe the last one.

it’s a really weird smutty book that inadvertently sexualizes shane. the main guy is literally shane hollander with a different name. elite player, youngest captain in montreal franchise history, golden boy, half-japanese half-canadian, same exact personality and looks… idk even if the character is somehow not inspired by shane hollander, then it’s kind of suspicious how similar they are…> > > > finn @jjsvoyagos
Oh… that is weird as fuckor; a straight hockey romance becomes the biggest show on the planet. The internet is convinced (correctly) that the male lead is 100% based on Shane Hollander. Too bad almost no one knows Shane Hollander is gay.

In Ilya’s rookie season, he impulsively jokes about dating Shane to an invasive reporter. Then, he just… keeps doing it, since publicly announcing it enough times that everyone writes it off as a joke is a great way to hide a clandestine relationship.
