Ahe supposes that, all things considered, this would be a nice place to die. To close his eyes for the last time, blanketed in a sea of flowers. His only regret would be that his blood would stain their delicate petals.
It's not that Shadow wants to die. Not entirely. Not always. It's just— Sometimes he thinks it would be so much easier, to just give in.
These thoughts are harder to ignore, lately.
Except, he then hears— Something. A quiet melody interrupting his mental downward spiral, cutting through the haze and bringing him back to the current moment.

“Hey. Hey, guys, um— Hear me out.” Ragatha then bursts into a fit of giggles, before suddenly turning deathly serious. It'd almost be scary if it wasn't, well, Ragatha. “The Gloink Queen.”
The room immediately goes silent, the three of them staring blankly at the ragdoll, who sighs with a faraway look in her singular eye.
“Dude.” Zooble lifts their head up from where they're laying, spread out like a starfish on Ragatha's bed. They've got pink sauce smeared into their eyes — Lacking a mouth means they can't exactly consume the sauce the same way the other three do. “What the fuck?”

“... You didn't know Batman. You didn't know Keanu Reeves.” Sonic speaks slowly, precisely, but the twitching of his mouth gives away his amusement. He sets the controller down next to him on the couch, abandoning his game in favour of teasing Shadow. “But you’re telling me you know who Sabrina Carpenter is?? Um, since when?”

It’s been just over a month since Shadow sacrificed himself for the sake of the world, and Sonic can’t stop thinking about him.
It's odd. Sonic barely even knew the guy, and essentially all of the brief time they spent together involved exchanging blows and chasing one another. Shadow almost killed Tom and wiped out the entire planet, for crying out loud! He really, truly, shouldn't care this much...
... But he does. And oh, it consumes him.
