My heart raced as the phone continued to ring. I debated whether to answer it or just let it go to voicemail like I had been doing. But something inside me compelled me to pick up this time. It wasn’t Jessy like usual. It was Jake. He hasn’t called me ever. Except that one time, when I didn’t know him yet.
With trembling hands, I swiped my finger across the screen and answered the call.
“Hello?”

“Oh, so you’re saying I’m not scary?” Mike uttered, looking at Will in disbelief.
“No, not at all,” Will smugly smiled at him, hiding his mouth behind the cup.
“What is your favorite scary movie?” Mike replied, mimicking the movie’s voice, only putting on an act to make Will laugh.
Will’s laugh was one of Mike’s favorite sounds in the whole world.
“Oh, please, don’t kill me, Mister Ghostface. I wanna be in the sequel,” Will answered, his voice becoming a pitch higher to match Tatum’s in the movie.
